Top 12 Things to Lower Anxiety
1. Food and Drink - Try to have less Stimulants in your food and drink. Less or no caffeinated coffee, caffeinated tea, Caffeinated soda or anything else with caffeine in it. Including Energy Drinks, energy shots, or anything that is processed and made to boost your energy. All of these things have stimulate you to have your heart rate go faster which increases your anxiety.
2. Exercise – By exercising you naturally bring you heart rate up so you get your body use to it and it starts to think it’s natural to for your heart rate to raise versus think you are having a panic attack. Plus when you exercise you get rid of the chemicals in your body that make you have a greater chance of a panic attack. The chemicals are used to fuel the body versus fuel a panic attack.
3. Passions - By living your life by the passions you have you reduce your anxiety because you are not trying to live a life you don’t love. You get up in the morning excited for your day versus dreading it.
4. Sex – Yes having more sex helps you to alleviate anxiety. The same way exercise does except you get the bonus of Happy Hormones going through your body and peaceful, calm feelings afterwards.
5. Guided Imagery or Mediation - By practicing some sort of relaxation technique your body gets use to it and responds better to stress versus going right to panic mode.
6. Letting go – By letting go of the things in your life that bring you strife and frustrations you allow more peaceful, happy, loving things to come in.
7. Schedule – This one might scare you a little but by having more of a schedule to your life you wake up in the morning ready to go and know what you need to do for the day versus making up stories in your head and getting less done and then having those racing thoughts in your head at night.
8. Animals – by having an animal of some sort they give you unconditional love and you have a place to vent without feeling like you are going to be criticized.
9. Setting aside time for you – this one may be hard for you but if you don’t take care of you. You can’t take care of others which makes you more anxious.
10. Smells – I know this may be strange but smells can bring up things in your life that make you feel anxious. Have you ever been somewhere and then all of a sudden you smell something and then you have to get out of there right away? This is usually true with anything that is man-made.
11. Practice – By practicing ahead of time before something big is about to happen you take the anxiety away because your body is use to what you are about to ask it to do. Also by practicing gratitude you bring more to you of love, joy and peace.
12. Journaling – By taking the time to write down what you are feeling you are letting go and able to not think about stressful things as much.
